The final programme in the Series proved to be the best of them all. It was great to see how the two discussed projects were developed from initial concept, to market research, product design, prototyping, branding and finally to advertising. Both projects were well executed. I personally preferred Michael Cloke’s STABLE concept as not only did it address a current issue facing blind people, but I can also see potential to use the “magnetic” feature for other applications, such as on airlines and camping where things have a tendency to stray! In terms of “real” innovation i.e. inventing a completely new product, Ilsa Parry’s FLO standing & walking aid was certainly the stronger of the two product’s. Excellent styling yet very functional.   However, I’m not sure what the level of demand would be for such a product…..who knows with the growing number of over 60’s??  I believe AGE CONCERN highly commended the design.
